James Kane Leahy Jr. (1944 - 2011)
James Kane Leahy Jr., 66, of Bedford passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at his home after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 2 p.m. to service time Thursday. James "Jim" was born March 15, 1944, in New Brunswick, N.J. He attended Malvern Preparatory School in Malvern, Pa., and attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. He was fluent in German and served as an interpreter. He retired from Delta Airlines at D/FW Airport after 25-plus years of service. Jim was an accomplished musician in piano and organ. He loved classical music and volunteered as an usher at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. He also enjoyed golf and his yearly visit to Germany. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Coman Leahy. Survivors: Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Janice; his father, James K. Leahy Sr.; brother, David; and sister-in-law, Carol.
